“Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence”. H.L. Mencken:

When they’re good you don’t have to say anything. When they’re bad there’s nothing you can say. The die was cast long before you arrived on the scene. Focus on their headlights; that space just behind the eyes and look for her humanity. The best will have a light there that shines brighter than the ambient light. That’s my one educated piece of advice. Past that you’re on your own.

The worst will have two fatal flaws; one, selfishness, which is fatal. It can’t be changed and it can’t be tolerated. And two; the need and wish for power. The most deadly spear to a man soul is a woman who seeks power but has never had it. She’ll be intoxicating and your little head will scream so loud that your big head won’t have a chance of hearing reason. You’ll think that maybe just this once I’ll dance with her but if you surrender the game is up since she will be a hellion between the sheets.

OK. So now that you’ve done the irresistible deed here’s the hard fact you’d better start warming up to. Remember the sign over the entrance to Devil’s Island where Papillon succumbed; “Ye who enter here; abandon all hope”. The game is up, over, done; you can’t win. You’ve bitten Adams forbidden fruit and a price will be paid. All you can control now is how big that price will be. I know, oh I know. You can change her; she only has that little drop of poison, right? You want to dive into that black hole and find signs of life. But tell me; what man ever changed a woman?

The important thing to remember is the longer you linger the more pain you’ll gain. It never gets better; it only gets worse. Sooner or later you’ll be leaving; lied to, used, abused and covered in her toxic addiction and you’ll reason it’ll hurt more to go than to stay. But the more time you spend trying to work your magic on this mayhem the worse the addiction will tear at you and the thicker the patina of shit covering your soul will grow.

Men are irrational about women and always have been so remember the rules. First; it’s like everything else in life. We can only ever get what we are organized to handle. And as important; we are only allowed three great women in our lives. The only other piece of knowledge I can impart is this. Never pull them toward you if your magnet isn’t vibrating on tilt. Save the seduction for after the connection. The right ones will come right to you. Women have an ancient ritual in this regard. They will tease you like a fly fisherman and get you chasing them; then at the precise moment you reach a speed you can’t quickly slow down from, she stops; and you crash right into her.

One Response to Women

5.5 rating, struggled with this one. Love the Mencken quote at the top.
